The fabric is quite thick. The hood is fine. I haven't washed it yet, but it doesn't look like it will shrink. There are no strange odors. The child really liked it.

I really liked it. The print is beautiful, and even the little branches are sewn together. I bought it for my daughter, who really wanted it. I recommend it for purchase. The material is synthetic but thick and of good quality. The color is just as shown in the photo.
