  • Lumiss joined Temu as one of the first Brazilian brands on the platform — within three months, Temu became one of its top three sales channels, outperforming marketplaces the brand has sold on for years.

  • Monthly sales jumped 60 percent in January 2026 — the fastest growth the 35-person, family-run brand has recorded on any e-commerce marketplace since it began selling online in 2018.

In Brazil's crowded footwear market, smaller brands need every edge they can get.

For Lumiss, a family-run women's shoe brand, Temu surprised by delivering the fastest growth the brand has ever recorded on an e-commerce marketplace, just months after joining the platform.

Lumiss operates in Birigui, São Paulo, a key shoe-making city in Latin America that has hundreds of shoe producers. The brand has been selling only online since 2018, and constantly evaluates its sales channels for cost and reach.

In October 2025, Lumiss joined Temu, becoming one of the first Brazilian brands on the platform. In three months, it sold more than 8,000 pairs of shoes. In January 2026, monthly sales jumped 60 percent, the fastest growth the brand has recorded on any marketplace.

"We have really seen explosive sales since January," said Luis Fernando Mistrinel, Lumiss co-founder. "This is just the beginning."

Years in the making

Fernando runs Lumiss together with his brother, Luis Felipe, and their father, Luis Carlos, who spent 20 years in the footwear industry before founding the company. The team of about 35 handles design, sourcing, and operations, while 10 partner factories manufacture everything from sandals to boots.

Fernando had been tracking Temu long before it opened to Brazilian sellers. He attended industry conferences, studied the platform, and even emailed the company asking when local sellers could join.

The effort paid off. In just months, Temu has become one of Lumiss' top three sales channels and has outperformed marketplaces where the brand has operated for years.

A lower-cost sales channel

Lumiss’s branding has always emphasized affordability, and Temu's lower seller fees make that easier.

"On Temu, the costs for sellers are lower, so sellers are able to pass these savings onto consumers," Mistrinel said.

"You know exactly what you're going to get from Temu. There are no surprises."

As the brand builds its domestic presence on Temu, Mistrinel is spotting an opportunity to go international next.

"Temu is a marketplace that we admire for its global range," he said. "I think we can go really, really far with them."
