Temu's EPR Compliance

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is an environmental policy vital to the recycling of products. Temu works within Belgium’s EPR compliance framework and helps sellers meet their EPR obligations. We support the development of a cooperative EPR compliance system.

On Temu's Part

  • We work with accredited Producer Responsibility Organizations in Belgium to facilitate proper collection, treatment and reporting for the recycling products.

    Electrical and Electronic Equipment
    Temu is registered with Recupel, Belgium’s officially recognized Producer Responsibility Organization for WEEE. Recupel works with accredited collectors and recyclers to guarantee the proper collection, treatment and reporting of WEEE. Through this registration, Temu facilitates EPR compliance for producers selling via its platform, provided they are not already registered with Recupel.

    Photovoltaic Panels
    Temu is working with PV CYCLE, Belgium’s officially recognized Producer Responsibility Organization for used photovoltaic panels. For PV waste disposal, please consult the waste disposal instructions.

    Batteries
    Temu is working with Bebat, Belgium’s officially recognized Producer Responsibility Organization for used batteries.

  • We consistently guide our sellers to comply with their extended producer responsibilities for the products they sell.

  • We closely monitor the changing regulatory environment and roll out new compliance programs together with the Producer Responsibility Organizations and sellers.

  • Recycling products may contain substances hazardous to the environment and human health and require careful treatment.

  • The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol on the recycling products indicates that they are subject to separate collection and should not be disposed of with household waste, as shown on the right side.
