What is the "Import Fees Deposit"?

The recipient of these international shipments is the importer of record and may be subject to import taxes, fees, and customs duties levied by the customs authority in your shipping destination ("Import Fees"). When the value for duty of your package reaches certain monetary thresholds imposed by the local customs authority, an estimated import fees deposit ("Import Fees Deposit") will be charged. The amount includes the estimation and payment of the Import Fees on your behalf to the relevant customs authority in the destination country.
